The EMSC is an international, non-profit NGO composed of more than 70 member institutes around the world. We operate a system for rapid collection, determination, and dissemination of earthquake parameters using seismic data contributed by seismological institutes together with crowdsourced data from earthquake eyewitnesses. What is EMSC (European Mediterranean Seismological Centre)?
EMSC (European Mediterranean Seismological Centre) provides real time earthquake information for seismic events with magnitude larger than 5 in the European Mediterranean area and larger than 7 in the rest of the world. What is the EMSC contribution to the Sigma project?
The EMSC contribution to the SIGMA project concerns the creation of the RESORCE database, that aims at being a reference seismic ground motion database in Europe for the development and the test of European ground motion prediction models to be used for seismic hazard studies. A better motion characterisation and exploitation of seismic motionsWhere is the EMSC's QCN Server deployed?
The EMSC has deployed a QCN server for the Euro-Med region to initiate, promote and coordinate QCN deployments in the region. Our strategy is to perform dense deployments in urban-seismically active areas. There are currently several deployments in Greece (in Patras and in Thessaloniki) and in Martinique Islands (French Lesser Antilles).
