Or simply tap on the Next bottom and dismiss the help screen. * If you'd like to see the help screen again, tap the Menu button on the top left corner, and select Help menu item.3. Start Your Singing 3. Start Your Singing Tap the Microphone button and sing to your iPhone (or iPad/iPod). While you sing, watch your pitch graph being drawn in progress. When you are done with your singing, tap on the Microphone button again to stop recording (or simply keep quiet for a few seconds and wait for the recorder to stop by itself). *1. Singscope needs access to the microphone. Please make sure the Microphone is enabled for Singscope in the device's Settings > Privacy > Microphone. *2. Singscope is sensitive to ambient noise, so it performs better when you sing in a quiet place. Don't play instruments or music loudly in the backgound while you sing to Singscope. If you'd like to play music for your singing, use earphones or headphones.4. Check Your Singing 4. Check Your Singing Tap the Rewind button to go to the beginning of your singing recording. Tap the Play button to hear your singing playback. Browse your singing pitch graph by pan-and-zoom using typical touch gestures such as drag and pinch.5. About Pitch Graph 5. About Pitch Graph The pitch of your singing is drawn in the music scale as function of time. We call this drawing a pitch graph. In the graph, each vertical grid line indicates a time mark in the unit of seconds. Each horizontal grid line indicates an exact semitone pitch frequency and is labeled by music name and octave number. For example, C4 means note C at 4th octave, which is corresponding to the middle C in piano keyboard. A4 is note A at 4th octave and has pitch frequency of 440 Hz.6. Graph Contrast 6. Graph Contrast The brightness of the dots in a pitch curve is directly related to the singing volume. You can adjust the curve brightness by tapping the Graph Contrast button and adjust the slider. Move the slider to the right can boost the brightness of the curve, especially for the portion where singing volume is lower.7. Finish Singing 7. Finish Singing Tap the New button to clear pitch graph and start a new one. Previously recorded voice is kept in the Recents folder (see the next section). Tap the Back button to go back to the contents screen. * When you make a new recording, older recordings may be discarded to make space available for the new one. The limit of storage space for recent recordings can be set in Menu -> Settings -> Recording Storage Setting.8. Review Recordings 8. Review Recordings On the first screen when you launch Singscope, besides the Contents tab that we mentioned eariler in this guide, there are 3 additional tabs: Recents, Saved, and Deleted. These tabs holds the previously recorded singing voices. To switch to the Recents folder, simply tab the Recents tab icon. All newly recorded singing voices are kept in this folder temporarily. To review an item, just tap on it, and the item will be opened in the Singscope view, where you can see the graph and play the voice again. Go back to the Recent folder.
